Dayturn viewer and macOS 11 (Big Sur) Compatibility

Yesterday Apple released macOS 11 (Big Sur) and the Dayturn viewer runs very well on the Intel version of the system. It looks like there is an improvement in frames per second in most scenes on the machines I have been able to test on.

The only issue so far identified is live streaming Youtube channels in the built in we browser and MOAP is unable to load the html5 video streaming codec. For most users that should not be a major issue hopefully.

The viewer has not been tested on Apple Silicon M1 based systems given they have yet to ship to anyone. The expectation it will not run at all, and if it does, it will most likely run very sluggish.

The viewer has been tested on an Apple Silicon Mac mini with the M1 processor, and it runs reasonably well under Rosetta 2 translation. – So much better than expected! :)

It looks like it might achieve 3X the frames per second compared to the 2018 Mac mini with Intel 630 graphics. The newly released MacBook Air and Macbook Pro 13" should have more or less the same performance given they both use the same processor.

For it to run as a native Apple Silicon app is a long wash, however.
