Do NOT install mono 6.8.x on Raspberry PI as it is breaking bad.
To prevent an automatic update to version 6.8.x you can edit the file
and change the line
to
This will prevent apt from downloading mono versions above 6.6.0.161
When you do an apt update you will get a message like the one below that can be ignored
