Update on using Dayturn with SecondLife

Linden Lab has officially announced withdrawal of support for asset fetch via UDP. Consequently it cannot be expected that an attempted login to SecondLife grid with the Dayturn viewer will succeed.

The viewer will not be able to fetch a number of asset types, including
  • sounds
  • landmarks
  • clothing
  • body parts
  • animations
  • gestures
  • meshes
This will also make the start of the work of removing SecondLife-specific functionality from the viewer, such as support for the integrated SecondLife Marketplace (SLM), and Pathfinding.

For users who want a dedicated, well-maintained viewer for SecondLife, we recommend our cousin, Kokua.

The official announcement can be found on the SecondLife Blog
