Dayturn 2.8.0 (202108271903)

macOS Dayturn 2.8.0 (202108271903)

Dayturn 2.8.0 for macOS is a release that improves functionality of existing functions, further improves rendering and has a number of bug fixes.

NOTE: The minimum system requirement for this version is macOS 10.13 (High Sierra). This should inconvenience a minimum number of users as most Apple hardware that can run macOS 10.12 also can run 10.13 (and usually better). The new requirement improves compatibility with Apple Silicon based systems and all currently supported Intel based systems from Apple.

Some highlights in this version:
  • Details about number of faces, textures, tris, vert and memory use has been ported from upstream Kokua to the Inspect Object floater. There is also a menu item on the Object pop-up menu to make it easer to get to this information
  • Detach object did not work in all menus. This has been fixed.
  • SL-5570 - Align planar faces" does not work on normal or specular maps - now working
  • SL-15711 Viewer hangs with agents with malformed inventory
  • SL-15696 Don't be so persistent with outdated driver notification
  • SL-11690 Parse URLs in Group description and Land description
  • SL-15380 Do not mute object agent is riding when agent and object are in different parcels
  • SL-7934 Driver version from wrong GPU
  • SL-14988 Overflow can keep flexi from updating

The details of all changes can as always be found in the commit log.

The viewer is signed with an Apple Developer ID, but not notarized.
It has also been tested on both Intel and Apple Silicon hardware on macOS 11.5 (Big Sur). On Apple Silicon, it runs under Rosetta 2 translation.
It has also been verified to run on the latest macOS 12 (Monterey) developer beta on Apple Silicon.
