I'm a latecomer here.. Just saw your message about Mono 6.8 and I've already installed it. I haven't see any problems in my region and there's nothing unusual in the console. What problems should I watch out for? I'm using mono 6.8.0.96 on MacOS 10.14.6.

If it works for you, nothing is better than that. Saw some low level crashes early in the startup sequence of simulators.
Quite often they publish small incremental updates for each point revision, so there might have been some bugs fixed since I last tested.
